For us at Team Maketh, we love nothing more than a week long dedication to amazing industries in the world. But finally London Cocktail week is here and we cannot tell you enough how excited we are to venture down to see all the amazing things the finest spirit brands have to hold.
To give you snapshot of the things to come here is a breakdown of the brands we’re going to explore over the week:
Botanist Gin at Blixen
Quite possibly the Gin with the coolest looking bottle around, as well as being the first and only gin Islay dry gin. The team at The Botanist kick London Cocktail Week off at Blixen bar with their brand ambassador – Abigail Clephane, to produce innovative cocktails using a range of foraged ingredients. All six of the cocktail kings will have their end masterpiece placed firmly on the Blixen menu for the week, so we will all be fortunate enough to firmly bless our pallets during London Cocktail Week.
Woodford Reserve – Woodford Alliance
All will stand strong and form their alliance with Woodford Reserve. The Woodford Alliance is here at London Cocktail Week with the aim to bring the best of the best, to show you their best bourbon cocktails. To give you a little flavour of who is in the mix, the likes of Nightjar, third best bar in the world is in the house, along with Stockholm’s finest; Little Corner. You can catch the Woodford Alliance in Shoreditch at the white rabbit.
Chivas Regal – The Blend
Prepare to meet the royalty of blended Scotch whisky as Chivas Regal bring their hub to the London Cocktail Week village, to show the public the true art of blending at their exclusive whisky bar in the Truman brewery. Upon visiting their bar, guests will get to experience the art of blending, where you will learn to create their very own blended whisky under the guidance of experts in an intimate, captivating setting. As you go through the art of blending, you will under the wing of Chivas experts, as they take you through the history of grain whisky and single malts from The Highlands, Lowlands, Speyside and Islay.
The Chivas Regal Collection
We should be ashamed for not knowing much about this brand before, but all has been forgiven with a commitment to see the distillery. What we have discovered about the gin makers is their incredible breath of flavours to enjoy. Sipsmith comes in range of gins on offer, which was available at their Sipsmith Gin Shop including Bloom & Wild, Mince Pie, Lemon Drizzle, Strawberries & Cream and Indian summer with a variety of cocktails and hot serves. Without hesitation we went for the bloom & wild which smelt like heaven on the nose, followed by the floral sweetness on the palette.
Belsazar
The vermouth makers from the Black Forrest in Germany, Belsazar are on the Tuesday & Wednesday running ‘The Art of The Shim At Home’. In their Aperitif Haus you will be able to learn how to create their signature low-alcohol cocktail, whilst trying some of their fantastic cocktails. They use Schladerer fruit brandies and a secret blend of botanicals, so this is bound to be a great session.
