After travelling through Los Angeles we now journey south, to reach San Diego. If you have ever watched the Anchorman movies, this place will be no surprise. It is by far one of the coolest spots in California.
From LA, getting to San Diego will take two hours by car, heading down the Interstate 5 or interstate 15. I preferred the Interstate 5 for its amazing view of the Pacific Ocean.
If you’re into your surfing then look no further than La Jolla, which is located North West of San Diego. You’ll find ton of surfers head down to the coast, to catch the waves coming in.
While you’re there head down to bird rock, to witness the strange flock of birds that always perch there.
Downtown was the choice of overnight stay and the Declan suites on 701 A St, San Diego, CA 92101 was the hotel. Like most of California you will need to pay for your parking, but Declan suits provide a valet service that will park it for you. The cost to park alone was like $30 or $36 for the valet service.
Nightlife is pretty sweet. Gas lamp quarter is the city strip for bars, clubs and restaurants to get a good American burger! There are also a couple jazz clubs around to dance the night away.
The climate is always inviting in San Diego and the sun is out most of the day so before heading off, why not hit the best beach there is to offer. Take the 75 south to over the Coronado Bridge, to Coronado Island. Here you will scope the best views of the city on the bridge, and then head won to the stunning Coronado beach.
Coronado beach has miles of white sand and beautiful ocean views to enjoy for miles. Behind you is the hotel del Coronado, one of the oldest and popular hotels in San Diego.
Before you head out of San Diego, why not make a pit stop at the in n out burger. For me they’re the best burgers in town and make the perfect fast food treat before you continue driving.
