It is not often I am bowled over by an idea that actually delivers, BUT that happened when I experienced the Mad Hatters Tea Party at the Sanderson Hotel in London. The cheeky shop of quirky delights Luna and Curious have gotten into the act and supplied the hotel with wonderful tea service featuring zebra’s, birdcages and carousels. Attention to detail was obvious with menus hidden inside vintage books, and napkins wrapped with riddles.
The feast continued and moved on to my favorite part, the sweets! These delights included ‘strawberries and cream’ homemade marshmallow mushrooms; a carrot meringue served on a bed of pea shoots; a ‘Tick Tock’ traditional Victoria sponge clock and a melting mango cheesecake coated in rainbow patterned white chocolate.
To finish off the experience guests are invited to ‘Jelly Wonderland’, where the most delicious fruit jellies made in Victorian jelly moulds are presented on a lavish Phillipe Starck cake trolley.
