Parke & Ronen is one of the few brands that puts on a menswear show at New York Fashion week. This means they’re a go-to for discovering hot new male models. The label, known for its well-cut swim trunks, typically casts a lineup of hunks for its shows—as co-founder Ronen Jehezkel puts it, men with a little meat on their bodies. Beefcakes that have walked their runway in past seasons include Matt Terry, now the face of Calvin Klein, and Travis Smith, who starred in Versace’s fall ’13 campaign. “If you can walk in a bikini effortless[ly], then you’re good,” says Jehezkel of the models he’s seeking out.
Racked tagged along to Parke & Ronen’s casting session last week to take a look at the latest crop of male hopefuls and to see what it’s like behind the scenes. Meet the designers and hear what the models have to say about working NYFW in our exclusive video.
