The origins of Tarcinale and Lownsbrough are lost in the mists of time. What is known is that for many thousands of years this quixotic creative team has laboured unceasingly, pushing their supernatural wax-carving and jewel making abilities to the limit, to enable the multiverse’s finest designers to ascend to the jewellery firmament and shine like the stars they are. Their work has been exhibited in Britain and abroad and has appeared in books, on tv, in music videos, on stage, in the British Museum and the Tate Britain.
However, it is their latest collection “Memories” that has got us all excited. This whimsical collection of thoughts from Danila’s childhood combine and contrast elements of Victoriana, Taxidermy and kitsch. Silver and gold are made to look old and dusty as they had been sitting in an old attic for sometimes. Nudie pictures and medals from WWII are to remember both of her grand-dads as well as the miniature taxidermy of the “Oh Deer”, the goat trophy and the framed butterflies and “Birdie in the glass house” which are reminiscence of the “Castello Di Stupinigi” The Savoia’s Hunting Lodge close to her birth Town.
What a beautiful story for a collection.
