As we draw closer into the Christmas period, it’s time to brave that cold snap and explore London in its wintery glory.
There are new activities happening in some of the favourite places to check out in London, which Team Maketh went to check out.
Science Museum – Kensington
As a child this was one of my favourite places to visit in all of London and as the years have passed, I can probably say it still is. The Science Museum is an integral part of exhibition road, South Kensington, that’s been around since 1928. You can literally spend hours of your day walking around all the exhibitions.
There are loads of different galleries to check out when you visit, from the exploring space to the Making the Modern World gallery.
One that I suggest checking out is the food cravings gallery, giving you everything you need to know about how our cravings control the way we are.
These galleries are free to visit, but there will be some parts that will require a ticket booking before hand, so make sure you plan ahead.
Southbank Centre Markets
If you’re as much of a foodie as I am, you’re going to really love this! The Southbank Centre Markets have everything from curried chicken, to Kobe beef burgers and fresh cookies. Since April this year the Southbank Centre Markets are bursting with fresh, creative and vibrant flavours, for food lovers and explorers alike.
You’ll find all the best foods around the world here, cooked up and available from Friday, (12pm – 8pm), Saturday (11am-8pm) and Sunday (12pm-6pm). If you’re ever nearby and can’t be had with the chain restaurants, take a browse round and grab some real home cooked delights!
Coca Cola London Eye
The London Eye has been around for over a decade, yet I’ve never been on it once. In that time several sky scrapers have been born, with their own public observation decks of London’s skyline. But for me personally nothing beats the original.
Coca Cola have now taken the torch to sponsor the London eye, which is perfectly fitting as the holidays are finally coming. The London Eye is still by far the most visited attraction in the UK, as well as still being an amazing part of London’s skyline.
You can purchase tickets at the wheel itself, but I would recommend order tickets online, to save yourself time and money!
If you haven’t the patience to queue up, there is always is fast track tickets option, to get you on the wheel within minutes!
As the festive period is now underway Coca Cola are providing additional special experiences to really make more of your visit. You can get involved in the champagne experiences, tasting capsule experiences with Hotel Chocolat. Or you can experience the new opened Frostival , where you can get your skates on (literally), enjoy winter cocktails the champagne experience.
There is so much to be done in London this festive period but these attractions; I intend to be checking out frequently.
