It was a rather balmy summer’s eve when I was invited to Mortons Private Members Club in Mayfair to meet team Rebus, the experts in signet rings. At the beautiful location I met Emmet who owns the company and talked me through their history, starting in 1971 as engravers to the rich and famous (this even included the official engraver to the Wimbledon trophies which is a tradition that continues today), and has developed into specialists in the creation, and engraving of some of the best British signet rings I have ever seen.
Many customers want something unique and family names, and crests are often asked about. The brand has a very novel way to help the decision making process of two old Victoria books. The first book identifies the family last name, and references the 2nd book with a page and id number.
On looking this up you will find your family crests which can then be engraved onto the signet ring. Genius, and a very lovely way to personalise jewellery!
The attention to detail on these rings are very remarkable. Here is my initials done in a pair of silver rings which look absolutely beautiful. Rebus also make lots of other rings that you can choose from so check them out at http://www.rebussignetrings.co.uk/ and see what you would pick.
