It started in New York City but has now found it’s way to West London in the ground floor of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Knightsbridge. Bar Boulud whilst nestled in the rather grand settings of the plush hotel has got a name for itself as a great burger joint. My monthly food club (the #RedRawClub) decided to go West in search for new tastes. Whilst there is plenty on offer from the menu, and the sausage tasting really does have to be tried it is the stacked high burgers that you have to go for. With a selection of different burgers on offer all stacked high with beautiful ingredients I plumped for the ‘BB’ burger which included the beef patty, foie gras, red wine braised short ribs truffle, frisée, horseradish mayonnaise confit tomato, topped and tailed with a black onion seed bun. At just under £20 it was a delux burger worth the money. The follow up dessert of rhubarb compot was delicious and highly recommended for those with a sweet fruity tooth.
However, whilst the drinks menu is impressive and extensive be careful what you order as it is a little pricey versus the food on offer. With that put a to the side Bar Boulud is certainly worth a visit for those wanting a great burger experience in grand surroundings without the massive price tag.
