Made in Britain carries a certain kudos that every brand should be proud of. Duchamp London is one of those brands, and despite the name, the ‘Britishness’ of the brand continues to be one of Duchamp’s greatest strengths. Designed and woven in one of the oldest mills in the UK, it’s a coming of age story to admire. Starting off 23 years ago in a Parisian Flea market, the brand later launched itself as a London based luxury men’s accessory line.
The brand prides itself on it’s range of luxury cufflinks made from Enamel, Rhodium, silver and Crystal. This season’s mens cufflinks range is particularly exciting, especially with the addition of animal characters. Whilst visiting the brand’s Kent based manufacturing studio Bill, the English jeweller who creates all of Duchamp’s fine metal pieces said about the brand:

“I’ve always been fascinated by craftsmanship. It’s something that was passed on from my Father as he was an accomplished cabinet maker in the East End. The process begins by getting Duchamp’s designs sent through, which are they built up from scratch. We cast everything in the studio. Duchamp’s designs are all very detailed, so we have to craft each piece by hand.”
Well that is lovely to hear Bill, and Im glad to see that a brand is taking its approach to design through to creation very importantly and keeping the entire process in Britain so to showcase our great heritage in craftsmanship. May that tradition stay strong for years to come.
