I started out on the hot stone beds, whilst sipping on a hot herbal tea. It really wasn’t long until the calmness claimed my mind, and I was at peace lying (rather sleeping) on my very comfortable stone bed. Whilst I rested my eyes the hot stones soothed and eased my muscles, and I awoke 30 mins later ready to face the world, or rather the trio of showers…..
This was (almost) my favourite part of the day. The ‘wet’ area of the spa consists of a trio of very different showers, sauna and steam room. However, it was the bucket shower that really took my fancy. Like an old fashioned Western, you literally pull the rope on the bucket and await the gentle pouring of the warm water. A cool and clever idea if I do say so!
Amazing wouldn’t do it justice. Every cupcake had been carefully made and hand-crafted in the kitchen. Of course, I had to try every flavour, and the raspberry cupcake came out the winner. The base was light, tasty, and flavoursome. The icing, well the icing was incredible and was licked off the base within 2 seconds.
The hotel has been crowned the ‘Coolest Hotel’ by CoolBrands for 3 years running, and judging by my experience of it, I can understand why. It has also been recognised as The Official Hotel of London Fashion Week and the official hotel partner of the 56th BFI London Film Festival. So I was in good company, and would recommend this hotel to literally anyone that wants to experience hotels the way they should be done.
Thanks to The May Fair Hotel for arranging my spa session, plus the delicious cocktails and cupcakes.
