One of our very favorite jewellery designers has just gone and upped their game. Yunus and Eliza (Twitter – @Yunus_and_Eliza) recently collaborated with Fashion Fringe winners Fyodor Golan for their SS13 show ‘Holy Mountain’. For the show the duo created elaborate ‘Face Sculptures’ out of cast bronze, brass rod, electro-formed wax, porcelain and stone.
The showpieces illustrated the transition of character of Fyodor Golan’s muse, the Victorian girl in ‘Blue Tattoo’. The pieces show the throwing off of the shackles of her era as she goes native, adopting Aztec and more organic imagery, whilst maintaining a fierce and theatrical intensity.
I caught up with the team at London Fashion Week, where they were showcasing their new and past collections. To say they were over excited about the collaboration would be an understatement, and rightly so. The pieces on show there, and with their new collection have catapulted their creativity into bigger and better things. With 2013 around the corner, I cant wait to see what else
Yunus and Eliza have in store.
