How we love a bow tie at Maketh-The-Man. The ever classic design keeps getting reinvented for the modern day dandy time and time again. From high end to high street many a man, and woman can now be seen wearing them.
Whilst we have seen many different types, designs, sizes and colours, it was at London Collections we were introduced to the most exquisite bow tie we have seen. Jupe (Twitter – @jupebyjackie), established in 2010 by Jackie Villevoye are all hand made by intensive needle work, an art rare to be found in fashion nowadays. Her designs are executed by male master artisans, and primarily from silk.
However, we were shocked to find out that no UK retailer currently stocks Jupe. An ourtrage I hear you cry! Well whilst talking to Jackie and finding out about the care, attention to detail and love that goes into her tie designs, I would agree with you. So my fabulous readers take this as a rally call to get Jupe stocked in the UK. For every British man should have one of these beautiful bow ties around his neck.
Whilst we await that, other high end bouqiues around the world are stocking them including: Barney’s New York, l’Eclaireur Paris, Opening Ceremony and Comme des Garcons’ Trading Museum in Tokyo.
